The United States has the third highest rate of skin cancer in the world with almost one in five individuals developing some form of skin cancer during their lives. Sun screen of 30 spf or higher (with UVA/UVB protection) is essential. Remember to apply sun screen 30 minutes prior to sun exposure and reapply every 2 to 3 hours. Avoid tanning beds.
